Acne & Scars

Acne and its effects on the skin, scars, have been a controversial issue with many of the young adults in our society, as 80% of them had or currently suffer from some type of acne related skin problems. Up to 5% of older adults also endure this discomforting situation. While many people recover from acne without any permanent effects, some people are left with disfiguring acne scars. Here at Escobedo Skin Center, we would like to help you ease the tension and come into help with all of your acne problems. Acne can most of the times be a discomforting issue to deal with and may have an impact on the aesthetic presentation of an individual. In order to minimize the damage acne can cause on your skin we recommend the following.
Picking at scabs should be avoided at all costs. Scabs form to protect the healing process that is going on underneath them. Pulling a scab off before it is ready interferes with the healing and remodeling process, prolonging the time that post-inflammatory changes will be visible. Unprotected exposure to the sun causes more skin damage and delays healing, therefore wearing a good sunscreen is important. When weighing the pros and cons of the different treatments available out there for acne, we encourage you to take a look at our services. The Ultrapulse C02 laser treatment both Deep and Active FX yield the best results yet. Ultrapulse C02 works in a specialized manner where through our laser, the top layer of the skin is virtually burned off, stimulating the natural collagen producing reaction in your skin. Now your skin is able to heal naturally and effectively producing healthier, silkier and smoother skin.
Through out the month of May, we are having an acne scar treatment special. The package consists of unlimited acne Scar Treatment, including but not limited to IPL’s, Deep & Active FX, and MDA’s. This package grants our patients the right to obtaining more service for less money on our treatments. SmartSkin Laser Lift

Exclusively at Escobedo Skin Center

SmartSkin LaserLift uses a dual laser to tighten skin from the inside out. Like Thermage, heat is delivered deep into the skin tissues where it directly effects collagen production. Most patients see up to 20% in tissue tightening.

LASER BEAUTY FROM THE INSIDE AND OUT

For maximum skin rejuvenation, Dr. Escobedo recommends combining SmartSkin Laser Lift with Active FX. This combination of laser technologies achieves inside-out tissue tightening with SmartSkin Laser Lift and outside-in textural improvements with Active FX.
Patients may use the SmartSkin Laser Lift for any body part just as they would for Smartlipo. The only difference is the target is the SKIN and not FAT. The following areas are highly recommended for SmartSkin Laser Lift:

brow & eyelid drooping
baggy eyes
loose skin
sagging cheeks
loose skin around the neck
chin & lower eyelid fat pads

Overheard @ ESC “The other doctor said I only need 1 syringe to treat my entire face”

Multiple syringes are necessary in a normal procedure.
In order to guarantee the best results of a procedure like the ones necessary for botox, multiple syringes are empirical. Most people want to use the least number of syringes in order to get by and save themselves some money. Truth of the fact is that just like in any procedure, desired outcomes are what determine the tools and expertise necessary to achieve them. Quality of service is top of the line here at Escobedo Skin Center. One syringe would only be like wanting to pump a gallon of gas into a vehicle and attempting to drive for 100 miles. The results are just not going to match.
We prioritize providing the most favorable results form any of our services, that is why we use multiple syringes for the different areas covered. Think about the entire area as one whole spot divided into multiple units where every unit requires a different dose therefore requiring a new syringe. In order to achieve ideal results one side needs to be balanced with the other side requiring a new syringe.

Overheard @ ESC: "You Overcharge for Botox"

Our prices for Botox are competitive with national averages, but some people ask why we charge more than other Botox providers. Botox has exploded in popularity over the last few years, so much so that many med spas and salons have started to offer injections. Many of these places may charge lower fees per unit of Botox, but this doesn’t mean you’ll get quality. The rise of medspa chains has led to price dilution as well as poor quality. Most of these places have closed their doors in the last few years, so one might expect to see normalization in prices.

Botox should be administered by a licensed physician, not an esthetician or medical assistant. The price of Botox at Escobedo Skin Center also accounts for how it is mixed. We never dilute the mixture with water, so patients will get the most for their money, seeing dramatic results that last about 4 to 6 months.

Like most things in life, you get the quality you pay for. A product made of cheaper materials will cost less, but won’t be as durable. When it comes to your body, we feel you shouldn’t take chances with quality. Get great results that last.

Overheard @ ESC: "Botox Doesn't Work for Me"

Botox works for most healthy adults, i.e. you!

The most common reason Botox doesn’t work is because you weren’t given enough of the active product. Always go to a trusted doctor for Botox and don’t try to order it yourself. You could end up with diluted or even fake Botox. If an experienced professional treated you, you may be due for a touch up. Botox results should appear within days and can continue to improve for 30 days. Results will last about 4 months.

Sometimes the wrinkle is too deep for Botox alone. If you have a line that appears even at rest, you’ll need fillers in addition to Botox to take care of it. This is why Escobedo Skin Center often recommends a combination of fillers to treat lines and wrinkles on different parts of the face.

Each filler treats something different, so come in for a personal consultation with Dr. Escobedo to create a treatment plan specific to your needs. Click here for more information on Botox and its lower cost alternative, Dysport.
